Craft Glue FAQs
Quick answers to help you choose the best glue for your project.
Which glue is best for paper and card?
For paper and card, a fast-grab craft glue like Hi-Tack Original is a brilliant all-rounder. Apply a thin layer for the strongest bond and a neat finish. For finer detail work, Hi-Tack Thin Glue is often easier to control.
What’s the difference between Hi-Tack Original, Thin and Fast Tack?
Hi-Tack Original is your everyday go-to for paper and card. Hi-Tack Thin Glue is more fluid for finer, detailed work and delicate projects. Hi-Tack Fast Tack Glue is similar to Original but dries faster when you need a quicker grab.
What glue should I use for glitter card?
Glitter card can be tricky because it’s textured. Many crafters prefer a strong double sided tape for glitter card, but if you’re using glue, choose a stronger option and test a small area first. For instant bonding on glitter card, our super sticky double sided tape is usually the easiest choice.
Is silicone glue waterproof?
Yes. Silicone glue is naturally waterproof and flexible, making it a great choice for mixed materials like fabric, wood and plastic, as well as some craft projects where moisture resistance is needed. (Always allow it to fully cure before exposing to water.)
Are these glues safe for scrapbooking?
Yes. The Hi-Tack glues are acid and lignin-free, making them suitable for scrapbooking and memory keeping. They also dry clear, which helps keep your projects looking neat and professional over time.
Do these glues work on fabric?
Silicone glue can be used on fabric as it dries flexible and is naturally waterproof. Hi-Tack Fast Tack Glue is great for crafts and trimmings but is not suitable for washing or dry-cleaning, so it’s best for decorative use only rather than wearable or washable items.
