Made from substantial 300gsm card, these gatefold card blanks have a gently textured hammered surface that gives handmade stationery a beautifully tactile, traditional finish. The two outer panels fold inwards and meet in the centre, creating an attractive opening that can be finished with ribbon, a belly band, wax seal or decorative embellishment.

Hammer Finish Gatefold Card Blanks

Gatefold cards—sometimes also called gate fold card blanks—have two side panels that open from the centre. This makes them particularly effective for wedding invitations, evening invitations, vow renewals, anniversary invitations and other special stationery where the opening itself should feel part of the design.

The subtle hammered texture adds interest without overwhelming your wording or embellishments. It works beautifully with satin ribbon, ready-made ribbon bows, vellum wraps, layered panels and paper flowers.

Available Gatefold Card Sizes

A5 gatefold card blanks: approximately 148 × 210mm when folded and supplied with coordinating C5 envelopes. This larger size gives you plenty of room for detailed invitation wording, decorative panels and additional wedding information.

A6 gatefold card blanks: approximately 105 × 148mm when folded and supplied with coordinating C6 envelopes. This compact size is ideal for wedding invitations, save-the-dates, evening invitations and handmade greeting cards.

Printing and Decorating Your Cards

The blanks arrive flat and pre-scored, allowing you to print or decorate them before folding. Printer capabilities vary, particularly when using 300gsm textured card, so always check your printer’s maximum card weight, supported dimensions and feed requirements. We recommend ordering a sample first if you are unsure.
